Become an
Accredited Assessor
Become an LHA or SDA Assessor. Only those that meet the required qualification prerequisites, have completed the appropriate training and hold certificates of currency for insurance and registrations can become LHA Assessors or SDA Assessors.

Become an LHA Design
Guideline Assessor
All Architects, Building Designers, Builders, Occupational Therapists, Access Consultants and Building Surveyors who have professional currency and professional indemnity currency are encouraged to become LHA Assessors. These professionals, (who meet additional prerequisite requirements) are able to assess that a home has been designed or built to meet one of LHA’s three performance levels, Silver Gold and Platinum.
Only a Registered LHA Assessor can issue certificates for LHA’s three performance levels, Silver Gold and Platinum. To become an LHA Assessor professionals from the above categories must undertake a 2.30-hour online training session and complete the online open book exam in order to receive their LHA Statement of Successful Completion and be registered with LHA.
To become an LHA Assessor applicants must provide evidence of:
- Professional Currency
- LHA Assessor course and online exam completion certification
- Valid Professional Indemnity Insurance (the policy must provide a minimum limit of $1M for any single claim and $2M in aggregate during any one period of insurance).
- Relevant prerequisites
Become an Accredited
SDA Assessor
All Architects, Occupational Therapists, Access Consultants and Building Surveyors who have professional currency and professional indemnity currency are encouraged to become SDA Assessors. These professions (who meet additional prerequisite requirements) are able to assess that a home has been designed and built to meet one of the SDA categories of Improved Liveability, Robust, Fully Accessible or High Physical Support.
Only an Accredited SDA Assessor can issue certificates for SDA design categories for enrolment as an SDA dwelling with NDIS. To become an SDA Assessor professionals from the above categories must undertake a 4.30-hour training session and complete the online open book exam in order to receive their SDA Assessor Statement of Successful Completion and be registered with LHA as an Accredited SDA Assessor.
To become an SDA Assessor applicants must provide evidence of:
- Professional Currency
- SDA Assessor course and online exam completion certificates
- Certificate IV of Access Consulting or Diploma of Access Consulting
- Valid Professional Indemnity Insurance (the policy must provide a minimum limit of $5M for any single claim)
- Valid Public Liability Insurance (the policy must provide a minimum limit of $10M for any single claim)
- Relevant prerequisites
